Josh founded Flexed in 2015 with a vision to deliver evidence-based, personalised physiotherapy to help people move better, feel stronger, and live healthier lives.
Born and raised in Melbourne, he completed a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the University of Melbourne and has worked extensively in private practice. Josh has broad experience in managing musculoskeletal conditions, chronic pain, sports injuries, and movement dysfunction, supporting clients of all ages and activity levels.
He has a strong interest in movement-based rehabilitation and exercise therapy, with significant experience using Clinical Pilates in treatment programs. Josh is passionate about empowering clients through education, movement, and self-management strategies to support long-term health and performance.
Throughout his career, he has worked with recreational athletes, elite sportspeople, and active individuals aiming to improve performance or recover from injury. His sports physiotherapy work includes representing Australia as Physiotherapist for the World Maccabiah Games in Brazil (2011) and Israel (2013), and later serving as Head Physiotherapist for the Australian delegation in 2017.
Outside the clinic, Josh is a proud father of four—Jacob, Abby, Aria, and Zach—and enjoys spending time with his family. He has been involved in CrossFit since 2007 and holds a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer (CF-L1) certification, giving him a strong understanding of strength and conditioning and high-intensity training.
When he’s not working or training, he can often be found at sporting events or supporting his beloved Collingwood Magpies.
Julia has been an integral part of the Flexed team since 2015, bringing a warm, practical, and evidence-based approach to nutrition and health.
After completing a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics at Monash University, she began her career focused on helping people build sustainable, realistic eating habits that support both health and lifestyle goals. Julia believes nutrition should be simple, enjoyable, and practical, and she works with clients to create personalised strategies that fit into everyday life.
She has experience across a wide range of areas including weight management, gut health, chronic disease, sports nutrition, family nutrition, and healthy eating at all life stages. Her focus is on long-term habits rather than restrictive diets, helping clients feel confident in their food choices.
In 2025, Julia launched JKids Dietitian, a paediatric nutrition practice supporting infants, children, and adolescents. She works with families on feeding challenges, fussy eating, growth concerns, and building positive relationships with food. She also shares practical nutrition advice online as The Pantry Dietitian, offering recipes, tips, and realistic guidance to a broad audience.
Known for her warm and approachable nature, Julia enjoys helping people find balance between health and enjoyment when it comes to food.
Outside of work, she has a strong interest in food, culture, and the arts, and enjoys ballet, food markets, gym training, Pilates, movies, and spending time with family and friends.
Samantha is an experienced physiotherapist with over 15 years of clinical practice, focused on helping people recover from injury, improve movement, and return to the activities they enjoy.
After graduating from Monash University with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy, she began working in private practice and has since developed extensive experience treating a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions across the spine, upper, and lower limbs in clients of all ages and activity levels.
She holds a Diploma in Clinical Pilates and has a strong interest in Pilates-based rehabilitation, using movement to build strength, control, and confidence. Samantha combines hands-on techniques such as soft tissue therapy and joint mobilisation with evidence-based exercise therapy, with a strong focus on long-term recovery through improved strength and movement patterns.
She has a particular interest in hypermobility and hypermobility-related conditions, supporting clients with tailored rehabilitation programs that often include Clinical Pilates to improve stability and reduce pain.
Known for her caring and approachable nature, Samantha builds strong relationships with her clients and creates a supportive environment for rehabilitation.
Outside the clinic, she enjoys an active lifestyle including walking, swimming, beach time, and dancing, and values the role of movement in both physical and mental wellbeing.
Julian joined the Flexed team in 2023, bringing a contemporary, evidence-based approach to physiotherapy focused on helping people return to the activities they enjoy with confidence and strength.
He completed a Doctor of Physiotherapy at the University of Melbourne and has experience across hospital and private practice settings, working with both adult and paediatric populations. This has given him a broad understanding of musculoskeletal conditions and movement-based rehabilitation across all stages of life.
Julian has a particular interest in sports injury management, ACL rehabilitation, chronic pain, and strength and conditioning. He enjoys guiding clients from early recovery through to a safe return to sport, work, and daily activity, combining hands-on treatment with exercise-based rehabilitation and education for long-term results.
He values exercise as a key part of rehabilitation and focuses on improving strength, movement quality, confidence, and physical performance, while staying up to date with current evidence-based practice.
Known for his friendly and approachable nature, Julian builds strong client relationships and develops practical, individualised treatment plans aligned with each person’s goals and lifestyle.
Outside the clinic, he leads an active lifestyle including bouldering, volleyball, snowboarding, and spending time outdoors. He also enjoys music, caring for his plants, and walking his dog.
Abeshek is a dedicated physiotherapist who combines an evidence-based approach with a strong passion for improving health, function, and quality of life.
He completed a Bachelor of Physiotherapy with First Class Honours at Central Queensland University in 2022 and has since developed a broad clinical skillset across private practice and the public health system. He currently works between Flexed and a major Melbourne teaching hospital, gaining experience across acute, trauma, rehabilitation, and community care settings.
His diverse clinical background strengthens his commitment to multidisciplinary, evidence-based care and allows him to manage both straightforward and complex cases with confidence. Abeshek has particular interests in osteoarthritis, post-operative rehabilitation, spinal pain, injury prevention, and exercise-based therapy.
He takes a patient-centred approach, combining assessment, tailored exercise prescription, hands-on treatment, and education to support long-term recovery and independence. He focuses on building strong client relationships and developing personalised treatment plans aligned with individual goals and lifestyles.
Abeshek has also been actively involved in the profession, receiving the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) Board of Directors Student Prize and contributing as a Student and Early Career Representative, advocating for students and emerging clinicians.
Outside of work, he enjoys an active lifestyle and is passionate about cricket, golf, and football, valuing the role of movement and sport in overall wellbeing.
James joined the physiotherapy profession with a passion for movement, performance, and helping people achieve their physical goals through evidence-based care.
He graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Doctor of Physiotherapy in 2023 and also brings experience as a Remedial Massage Therapist, giving him a strong foundation in both hands-on treatment and exercise-based rehabilitation.
James has a particular interest in musculoskeletal injuries, persistent pain, and performance-focused rehabilitation. He combines manual therapy, targeted exercise, movement retraining, and education to help clients recover, reduce pain, and improve long-term physical function.
With a background in physically demanding activities, he enjoys working with athletes and active individuals across all levels, tailoring treatment to goals such as returning to sport, improving performance, or moving more comfortably in daily life.
Outside the clinic, James leads an active lifestyle and is heavily involved in circus arts and rock climbing. He trains, teaches, and performs circus acrobatics and regularly climbs outdoors, giving him a strong understanding of movement-based sports and their physical demands.
Known for his approachable and enthusiastic nature, James focuses on building strong client relationships and helping people achieve lasting, meaningful results across all activity levels.
